For all the Amauris, Felipe Melos and Diegos that the club’s fans were made to witness following their promotion back to the Serie A after the 2006/07 season, Juventus seem to have finally got it right. Having captured Paul Pogba on a free transfer from Manchester United in the summer of 2012, the Bianconeri have an absolute gem in their ranks.
Still just 23 years of age, I consider French star Pogboom (as he is known due to his explosive style and energy on the pitch) to be the most complete midfielder in the world. I have little doubt that if, or rather when, Juve come to sell him, Super P will fetch a fee that challenges Gareth Bale’s world record.
These are the top 10 reasons why I’ve given Pogba this title:
1. He is a rock on the ball
2. His hairstyles are just brilliant (his Batman and Pokemon ones spring to mind…)
3. He is cool and stylish
4. He is big, strong and powerful, making him good in the air and intimidating opponents
5. He is a nice guy off the pitch and sticks up for good causes
6. His celebrations
7. He can dribble players for speed, power and trickery
8. He works hard defensively and tracks back effectively
9. He has a cannon of a shot and can do free-kicks
10. He oozes flair and has great vision
Pogba’s performance against Bayern Munich earlier this year combined half of these points in a single match…

He is a rebel who has been educated and tactically disciplined by Juventus! Juve are experts at bringing out the best in young rascals something even the great Fergie had given up on.
Pogba is undoubtedly Fergie’s biggest mistake. He has shown his class and quality for ages, and knew how good he was – something that Sir Alex wasn’t ready to settle for. Today, thanks to Juve’s nurturing too, he’s a star – though he was always destined to be one.
